Royal Kiteboarding

One of the most beautiful countries of Central America, Costa Rica offers visitors an ideal set up for riding. Safe, warm, windy and beautiful it has both flat water and wave riding conditions.
Only 5 hours away from main US cities and relatively easy to reach from Europe as well, Costa Rica is a great option for escaping the winter months for a quick trip to learn the basics of the sport, or for training to master your next move or moves. The Center is located at the edge of a calm and protected lagoon. Accommodations are simple and clean, and the food is delicious! The wind there is one of the most consistent that we have seen, blowing from November until May at intensities between 15 and 30 knots. No-wind days are rare - we were there in February and the guys at the center reported not having a non-riding day since November 15th. Water is mostly flat.
Costa Rica also has some of the best quality and consistency of surf in all of Central America so a trip there can easily be planned to combine both kiteboarding and surfing. There are many brakes of world renown surf such as the nearby town of Tamarindo, just about 1 hour from the Center. The surf season is a bit slower through December, January and February, but the southern hemisphere stays active year around.
The center is equipped with all latest Royal gear for both teaching and rental.
